Plot
In Livid, Kay Scarpetta is called to investigate the murder of a young woman whose body is found in a remote field. The victim has been savagely beaten and her body bears the marks of torture. Scarpetta and her team soon realize that this is no ordinary murder. The killer is a sadistic psychopath who is obsessed with inflicting pain. As Scarpetta digs deeper into the case, she uncovers a dark world of secrets and violence. She must race against time to stop the killer before he strikes again.

Kay Scarpetta is one of the most iconic characters in crime fiction. She is a brilliant forensic pathologist who is known for her sharp mind and her unwavering dedication to justice. In Livid, Scarpetta is at her best. She is determined to catch the killer and bring him to justice, no matter what the cost.
Scarpetta is joined by a team of talented investigators, including her husband, Benton Wesley. Wesley is a former police detective who now works as a private investigator. He is a skilled investigator who is always there to support Scarpetta. Other members of the team include Pete Marino, a forensic specialist, and Lucy Farinelli, a computer expert.
Forensic Detail
One of the things that makes Patricia Cornwell's novels so unique is her attention to forensic detail. Cornwell is a former police officer and she has a deep understanding of the forensic process. In Livid, she uses her knowledge to create a realistic and suspenseful story. Readers will learn about the latest forensic techniques and how they are used to solve crimes.
Livid is a thrilling and suspenseful novel that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Patricia Cornwell has once again proven why she is one of the most popular crime writers in the world.
